Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or use the homemade seasoning below
  • ½ cup water
  • 8 taco shells hard or soft
  • Toppings: shredded lettuce diced tomatoes, grated cheese, sour cream, salsa, and guacamole.

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Cook the Onion and Garlic Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until it softens, about 3 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.

  • Brown the Ground Beef Add the ground beef, using a spatula to break it into smaller pieces as it cooks. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Draining any excess fat is recommended for a leaner taco meat recipe.
